March on, Hippopotamus!
It was hard to pick between the pygmy hippo and the river hippo, both are such cute and unique animals with equally fun and interesting facts.
It’s been so great to have a few in-person school visits this year. I love the interesting questions that kids ask and it absolutely recharges me when I come back home to write and draw. “Robert Lincoln Bartholomew” was my favorite monster-mash collaborative drawing with the 3rd through 5th grade students from Webster Elementary school in New Hampshire (but they were all a lot of fun). You can read more about my school visits here.
On March 17th I will be attending the New Hampshire School Library Media Association Conference in Concord, NH. I’ll be on the Elementary Author panel and signing books. It’s my first time attending, so be sure to come and say hello!
Also coming up fast… I will be at Exeter Lit Fest on April 1st (no fooling!). The schedule hasn’t been announced yet, but I will be there, doing Mini Doodle drawing with kids! Let’s just say that if you can’t wait for the new books then you definitely don’t want to miss it.
And if you’ve made it this far in my newsletter, I am super super excited to have good book news coming up soon - if this was on twitter it would be known as a vague tweet and include a gif of Kermit flailing around. I will save your eyeballs from the chaos and just say, HOOORAAAYYY!
As always, I’d love to hear from you. I’m open to suggestions for upcoming animal worksheets and would love to see what your students have been doing with these!
